Message from the Pastor

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.  Whoever believes in Me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me shall never die.  Do you believe this? John 11:25, 26

What are you looking for in a church?  I am looking for life.  Not just liveliness and energy, but life that comes from the love of God.  When Jesus spoke to Martha about life, He was proclaiming, even before it happened, His power to take on the cross, to die for our sins, and then come back alive again.  Christ was speaking not just about life in this world, but His power to give eternal life to all who believe in Him.  “Do you believe this?” Critical question.  Love brought Jesus Christ down to earth.  Love made Him pour teaching and time into those around Him.  Love made Him perform life-giving miracles of healing and feeding and casting out demons.  Love nailed Christ to the cross and brought Him out of the tomb with the power of an indestructible, eternal life. But the love of Christ goes much further, because it brings life not just to those in His time, not just a temporary fix, but immortality for all His followers, life beyond the grave, and that includes us.  First Presbyterian Church of Georgetown Kentucky is about life.  We are a church filled with the life of our Savior, always working to gain more of His life through the Spirit. We worship together, study God’s Word together, pray with and for each other.  We laugh and we work together, sharing Christ’s love with each other in this church family, and outside our walls in loving mission.  Because once you have tasted life, you can never do without it.  Come and join us, come and see, see what life in Christ is like.
