Rev. Beth Herrinton-Hodge began serving as our stated supply pastor in September 2025.

She comes to us having served as interim pastor for two yoked churches in rural Maine. Yes, she spied a moose or two on the way to church! Beth and her family, husband, Jay, and young adult children, Rowan and Sam, moved to Shelbyville, Kentucky for Beth to take a job in Sunday school curriculum development with the Presbyterian Mission Agency at the Presbyterian Center in Louisville. Jay was subsequently called to serve as pastor with First Presbyterian Church Shelbyville, where their family made their home. Most recently, Beth has been serving as the director of the Academic Support Center at Louisville Seminary. Now that Jay has retired from parish ministry, Beth is enjoying a return to congregational service.

Beth is a life-long Presbyterian (as is Jay). She grew up in Michigan and West Virginia but her heart lies in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was ordained, married, and started a family. She graduated from Ohio University, holds a master’s degree in Christian Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (now Union Presbyterian Seminary) as well as a MDiv from San Francisco Theological Seminary. She has served congregations in Virginia, North Carolina, California, Ohio, and Maine, and she was an active worshiper and volunteer in Jay’s congregation in Shelbyville. Beth has kept her hand in curriculum development, and is a fee-lance editor for The Present Word adult curriculum and These Days daily devotional guides from the Presbyterian Publishing Corp.

Her passion for ministry is nurturing people’s spiritual growth and supporting people in discerning and responding to God’s call to love and serve God and God’s people. She’s excited about working alongside this congregation as we seek, envision, and embody God’s call to mission on Main Street, and in Georgetown, in this particular time and in this particular space.
